The most valuable aspect of HSS is its exceptional student community. HSS provides regular opportunities to explore different health professions. Friday lunches, guest speakers, workshops and medical school visits expose students to a variety of career paths and perspectives within healthcare.
A Strong Support System
The program fosters an environment of collaboration and support. Students rely on one another for academic help, guidance and encouragement, creating a community that contributes to both personal and academic growth.
Trips and Community Events
Events outside the classroom are an important part of the experience. At the beginning of each fall semester, students have the opportunity to build lasting bonds and ease into the school year at HSS's Annual Retreat, spending the day participating in fun activities with fellow members of the community, creating memories and friendships that last throughout their time at UT. More traditions like spring field trips, medical school visits and end-of-the-year banquet help build connections that last beyond graduation.
Involvement Across Campus
Health Science Scholars are active across the university in research, service, student organizations and extracurricular activities. Involvement spans clinical work, volunteering, athletics, music and more!
