Dean’s Scholars is designed for students who are excited by big questions and eager to contribute to the advancement of science through research. Ideal for aspiring researchers, the program offers opportunities to engage deeply with scientific inquiry, work closely with faculty mentors, and gain hands-on research experience early in college. Through a rigorous honors curriculum, specialized seminars, and a supportive community of faculty, advisors, and peers, Dean’s Scholars develop the skills needed to become independent scholars and innovators. Students learn not only what is known, but how new knowledge is created. Graduates have gone on to pursue Ph.D. programs, research careers in academia and industry, scientific leadership roles, and other paths centered on discovery and innovation.

Health Science Scholars

For students committed to serving others through healthcare, combining science with communication and community impact.

Health Science Scholars is built for future health professionals who see service as a lifelong commitment and put it into practice every semester. The program strengthens students’ ability to write, speak and think clearly through intensive coursework and a culminating research thesis shared with the public. Above all, HSS offers a close‑knit, diverse community united by shared values, collaboration and a passion for improving the lives of others. Health Science Scholars graduates have gone on to become physicians, dentists, physical therapists, physician assistants, public health leaders, healthcare administrators and other professionals dedicated to advancing health and well-being in their communities.

Polymathic Scholars

For students who don’t want to stay in one lane—blending science with creativity and other fields to tackle complex problems.

Polymathic Scholars is designed for intellectually curious students whose interests extend beyond a single discipline. The program encourages students to explore the intersections of science, technology, the humanities, the arts, business, policy, and other fields while creating an academic path that reflects their unique interests and goals. Through the Evidence and Inquiry Certificate, students design a personalized course of study that draws from multiple disciplines, allowing them to explore emerging areas that do not fit neatly within traditional academic boundaries. With close faculty mentorship and a community of fellow big thinkers, Polymathic Scholars learn to approach complex challenges from multiple perspectives and communicate their ideas effectively. Graduates have gone on to graduate school, research careers, law school, medical school, entrepreneurship, industry leadership, and other paths where interdisciplinary thinking drives meaningful impact.
